Pakistan has strongly reacted to recent statements made by India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, regarding terrorism and national security. Rajnath Singh stated that India would not hesitate to pursue terrorists into Pakistan if they attempted to disrupt peace in India. Pakistan has condemned these remarks as “provocative” and “myopic,” stating that such rhetoric hinders the possibility of constructive engagement between the two nations.
In response to accusations made by The Guardian alleging targeted killings in Pakistan by Indian forces, Singh warned of a strong response to any terrorist activities aimed at India. He emphasized India’s commitment to its own peace and security, asserting its right to defend itself against threats.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement reaffirming the country’s dedication to regional peace and highlighting its historical resolve to protect its sovereignty. The ministry emphasized that Pakistan has always demonstrated its commitment to peace and has the capability to defend itself effectively.
Singh’s remarks were perceived as escalatory by Pakistan, especially in the context of recent tensions between the two countries. The accusation by The Guardian added fuel to the fire, with India denying any involvement in targeted killings in Pakistan and dismissing the claims as propaganda.
