An Oracle employee identified Tarun Kumar Jinaraj got arrested in Bengaluru 15-year-year long after his wife Sajni Jinaraj’s murder. The accused who was on run since 2003 from Ahmedabad has been living in Bengaluru with a new name Pravin Bhateley. The police officer before arresting Tarun did the groundwork for four days and the official Kiran Chowdhury dressed as an Oracle employee went to Tarun’s cubicle and said, “Hello Tarun, it’s over… Let’s go.”
Ahmedabad crime branch Special police commissioner JK Bhatt said, “While on the run, Tarun first worked in Delhi and then in Pune. He remarried a woman named Nisha in Pune and is the father of two boys. He began working for Oracle six years ago. He drew a salary of Rs 22 lakh per annum and was leading a happy life in BTM Layout II Stage.”
Tarun was caught after he made a mistake of calling his mother Annamma Chacko from his office landline that helped the official to trace him. “She told us she has two sons, one who lives in the south and the other in Ahmedabad. We then found that she often visits Kerala and Bengaluru. In Kerala, she went to a religious place,” the accused mother said.
