Despite the mixed responses to his latest digital release, Orey Bujjiga on Aha, filmmaker Vijay Kumar Konda has his career finally progressing at a pace it deserved to, after the success of Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. It was very surprising that the industry didn’t give him a good push after his first film and conveniently forgot him after his second film Oka Laila Kosam had flopped.
Orey Bujjiga may not be the best of films that the director could have made, but it has at least brought him back to the limelight again. The fact that he got a digital release is a relief by some measure, given he won’t be pinned down by box office this time. The director has a knack for comedy and can bounce back if he has the right subject on hand.
It’s interesting that he’s collaborating with Raj Tarun once again for a thriller, a genre that the actor and the director haven’t worked on yet. Besides, the director has already wrapped up 50% of the shoot for Nikhil Kumar Gowda’s Kannada-Telugu bilingual. And the director should seek the web medium to make quality content as well. Telugu web space’s progress hasn’t been drastic but it gives a voice for everyone. He should capitalise it to make content without any creative compromises.
