Last week it was reported that Rhea Chakraborty named Rakul, Sara Ali Khan, designer Simone Khambatta, Sushant Singh Rajput friend and former manager Rohini Iyer, and the actor’s ‘Dil Bechara’ director Mukesh Chhabra. According to another report, NCB had refused to take any names saying they have not yet shortlisted on people. Later the next day, Times Now channel said that the NCB had indeed mentioned that the names mentioned above were indeed given by Rhea Chakraborthy in her 20 plus page statement to the agency. Following this Samantha and many other supporters of Rakul deleted their Tweets. There are also some reports in the websites that Rakul is being replaced in Krish’s film that has Vaishnav Tej as the hero. There is no official confirmation on this. Pained by all this talk, Rakul could have moved the Court as it is causing her mental agony and hurting her professional reputation.
Now after Rakul had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court after her name was linked to the case, the court has further asked the state government, NCB and Press Council to present a proper explanation about the reports. In her petition, Rakul had stated that the high court should ask the Information and Bureau Ministry to stop the media trial, which began after her name was linked to the case. It also read that the actress received the news about her and Sara Ali Khan’s name being linked to the case, while she was on the sets, shooting for a project. It appears Rakul has to wait for the replies from the investigating agency because they are coming close to a finish. While CBI is investigating the murder, the NCB is more concerned on the drug pedalling and is listing out all the phone calls exchanged between the prime accused and the people she was in touch with in the last few months of Sushant’s death. They have neither summoned or blamed anyone but the Times Now news channel reports that they could be summoned for questioning anytime. The actor shouldn’t worry if she hasn’t done anything wrong and tell the media that Rhea was a friend and they had normal conversations. Media like in the rest of the country wants to report and since Rakul is not available in Mumbai, the onus fell on the local channels to follow her for bytes. This is a professional hazard and the price one pays for being a A tier actor.
