Telangana’s government greeted its new cinematography minister, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, as he officially assumed office yesterday. In a surprising statement, the minister mentioned receiving congratulations solely from film producer Dil Raju.
The seasoned Congress leader expressed his appreciation for Dil Raju’s gesture, emphasizing that no other personalities from the film industry reached out to wish him on assuming his ministerial role.
Having a positive relationship with the cinematography minister holds significance for the film sector. Previously, the rapport between the film industry and former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav led to certain privileges, such as flexible ticket pricing and additional screening opportunities. The film industry benefited from a lenient approach by the KCR government.
With the new Congress government in place and Komatireddy at the helm, Tollywood needs to establish a similar understanding and rapport.
It’s crucial to avoid misunderstandings, as seen previously with the AP government, which resulted in disruptions like restrictions on ticket prices and cancellation of special screenings. Telugu cinema hopes for an amiable relationship with the new minister. Considering it’s only been a day since Komatireddy assumed office, there’s an opportunity for Tollywood to build a positive association with him.
This transition marks a crucial phase for the film industry in Telangana, urging for cooperation and collaboration between the government and Tollywood for a mutually beneficial environment.
