The South Indian film industry is home to many talented actresses, including Samantha, Trisha, Nayanthara, Sai Pallavi and Rashmika Mandanna. However, this year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2025 has highlighted a surprising name in the entertainment category.
Forbes, the well-known American magazine, annually releases a list of the 30 most influential young personalities across different fields. In the entertainment category for 2025, only one actress from South India has made it to the list—Aparna Balamurali. Her achievement has come as a surprise, especially considering the dominance of established stars in the industry.
Alongside Aparna Balamurali, Bollywood actor Rohit Saraf has also secured a place on the prestigious list. Their growing influence and recognition over the past year have played a crucial role in their selection. Aparna, in particular, gained significant attention for her role in the Tamil film Rayan, directed by Dhanush.
She has also impressed audiences with her performances in Malayalam films like Kishkindha Kandam and Rudram. Her unique acting style and dedication have made a strong impact on the film industry.
Aparna Balamurali began her acting journey in 2016 with the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram. She later appeared in Tamil films such as 8 Thottakkal and Sarvam Thaala Mayam. However, it was her performance in Soorarai Pottru (2020), alongside Suriya, that brought her widespread acclaim. Her portrayal in the film earned her the National Award for Best Actress, cementing her place among the most talented actresses in Indian cinema.
