Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film, Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, was released worldwide on October 10, 2024. The film, an action-packed drama, was also released in Telugu and has received mixed reviews so far.

Interestingly, news circulating on social media reveals that actor Nani was initially offered the role that eventually went to Rana Daggubati. The character, a corporate villain, had limited screen time and depth. Nani decided to reject the role, which was then given to Rana. Many critics have noted that the character did not have much room for significant development, and as a result, Nani’s choice seems to have been well-considered.

Fans on social media are reacting to Nani’s decision with mixed emotions. One fan praised the actor, saying, Nani’s judgment was spot on once again, as he avoided a role that had no real importance. Others, who had initially criticized Nani for turning down a major film like Vettaiyan, are now acknowledging that his decision was a smart move, given the weak writing for most characters aside from Rajinikanth’s.
