Shivani Rajasekhar, daughter of Jeevitha and Rajasekhar, recently opened up about her decision to turn down the opportunity to star in the hit movie “Uppena.” The film, which marked the debut of Krithi Shetty alongside Panja Vaishnav Tej, gained immense popularity and acclaim, becoming the first 100-crore club film to feature a debut hero in India and winning the Best Telugu Film Award at the National Film Awards.
In a surprising revelation, Shivani disclosed that she was initially offered the lead role in “Uppena.” However, she declined the offer due to discomfort with the bold and intimate scenes in the script. She expressed uncertainty about her ability to perform such scenes comfortably.
As fate would have it, the script underwent changes after Shivani’s refusal, eventually leading to Krithi Shetty taking on the role. Notably, Krithi portrayed a character that involved a few intimate scenes, which Shivani had been hesitant about. The decision of Shivani led to Krithi Shetty’s breakthrough in the film, highlighting the impact of role choices on career trajectories in the entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, Shivani shared that even now, if she were to consider roles involving intimate or lip-lock scenes, she would need to carefully evaluate her comfort level.
