Tamil Salt’n Pepper hero Ajit’s Viswasam began with weak openings. The release of the HD print with sub-titles on the Amazon Prime barely three days before the Telugu release appears to have hit it very hard. In most cases, the theatres were not even half full.
Even otherwise, Ajith’s market in Telugu has nothing to go home and tell about. Hence, simultaneous releases in both Tamil and Telugu are already ruled out. Naturally, Viswasam was released a good 50 days after the Tamil release. Even then, the collections are very poor. The collections are none too encouraging.

The story is routine and there is nothing except mindless and masochistic elevation of Ajith. Rest of the story is in the regular mode. He gets separated from his wife after they have their first baby and then gets united at the end thanks to the baddie. So, there’s nothing new in the film. So, the question is will this Rs 100 crore film get back at least the Rs 3 crore invested by the Telugu buyer?
