Nithya Menen is one of the finest actress in South industry. Having started her acting career in Kannada film 7 O’ Clock , since then she has worked in all the South languages and has earned a niche for herself. Since the lockdown imposition, the actress has been back to her house n Bengaluru where she is relaxing, rejuvenating and also working on scripts.
Ask her about social media debate that is in fad over South stars not getting their due in Bollywood and with many getting sidelined, she differs saying some of the big actress are from South. She said, “Some of the topmost actresses in Bollywood have all been South Indians…starting from Padmini, Vyjayanthimala, Waheeda Rehman, Sridevi, to Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone”.
She continues saying that with so many regional films making the best or better than Bollywood, she adds, “Either way, there is no need that you have to do it only in Bollywood, we have beautiful mediums in the South here, in different languages. I want to do good films and it is not about Bollywood. Even the smallest of the industries make good films. Be it Bengali or Marathi, I would actually love to work even in those languages. I’m so excited to learn a new language. So, I don’t think any such debates make sense.”
