The growing trend of the audience watching Tamil originals with sub-titles on online platforms is proving to be a big problem for those trying to remake those films. Due to this, the remakes are failing to click The same fate befell on Tamil hit Rakshasan.
Bellamkonda Suresh Bags Rakshasan Remake Rights
Initially, there was a huge rush for Rakshasan remake rights. Hero Nithiin had even paid the advance. He wanted to remake the film and had even scouted for a suitable director. In the meanwhile, the Tamil producers felt they can raise the bar by hiking the price.
They told Nithiin that they would sell the rights only if Rs 4 crore is paid to them. Nithiin felt this was too high a price and said he would rather not buy the remake rights. He was also in two minds as a lot of young Telugu viewers had already watched the movie online with Telugu sub-titles. So, he broke off the deal.
Now the latest is that after Nithiin let go the project, Bellamkonda Suresh is after it. He has asked his producers to get the remake rights of the film. He is all set to take up this project after the curret projects on hand.
