Former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy, an actor, got engaged to Revathi. The bride-to-be is the grand-niece of Congress leader and realtor M. Krishnappa. Nikhil’s grand father and former prime minister of India HD Deve Gowda attended the event along with several other politicians and influential people at the Taj West End.
The high-profile event saw the couple in coordinated clothes. Revathi went fora light peach and cream saree, while Nikhil wore a sherwani. Reportedly, the occasion saw around 6,000 with the likes of former ministers DK Shivakumar, KJ George and G Parameshwara, M Krishnappa, IPS officer Alok Kumar, former DG and IG of Karnataka Neelamani Raju, JD(S) MLC Basavaraj Horatti, and actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Speaking about the menu, it is learnt to have 30 dishes from across the state, with nine different welcome drinks, 10 different side dishes and 14 types of main courses and seven types of dessert.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Nikhil tried his luck in politics. He lost to Sumalatha Ambareesh, widow of former Karnataka actor Ambareesh, in the Mandya constituency. The 30-year-old is a Kannada film actor who made his debut in the bilingual movie Jaguar in 2016. The actor will soon start shooting for his new movie Production No-1. In addition to acting in movies, Nikhil is also actively participating in politics by meeting people and visiting several places.
