The Tamil anthology, produced by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan, is based on the nine ‘rasas’ (human emotions) – anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder. The nine films have been directed by Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthick Naren, Karthik Subbaraj, Priyadarshan, Rathindran Prasad, Sarjun, and Vasanth Sai. This also marks Arvind Swami’s directorial debut.
Arvind Swami, Suriya, Siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Alagam Perumal, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Aishwarya Rajessh, Poorna, Riythvika, Prasanna, Vikranth, Simha, Gautham Karthik, Ashok Selvan, Robo Shankar, Ramesh Thilak, Sananth, Vidhu and Sreeram play prominent characters in the anthology. All the artistes worked pro-bono for the project that is aimed to generate funds for those struggling in the industry amid the pandemic.
