Director Nag Ashwin, currently focused on the post-production of Kalki 2 and promotions for “Kalki 2898 AD,” recently addressed various queries from Telugu media about the film, including the notable absence of actors Nani and Naveen Polishetty who previously acted in Vyjayanthi movies banner and Nag Ashwin’s films. Talking about the same, Nag Ashwin clarified that it wasn’t feasible to include Nani and Naveen Polishetty in the first part of “Kalki 2898 AD,” but he assured fans that there might be opportunities for their inclusion in the sequels. This revelation hints at the possibility of an expanded cast and further character developments in future installments.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda, who plays the character Arjuna, appears only briefly in the first part. However, Nag Ashwin hinted that Deverakonda’s role is crucial to the story and that there are many surprises in store. He suggested that Vijay Deverakonda’s character might play a more significant part in the sequels, building anticipation for future developments.
Nag Ashwin also addressed the casting of Prabhas in the lead role, mentioning that Prabhas’ character will have an even more substantial and powerful presence in “Kalki 2.” He dispelled rumors that the role was initially offered to Chiranjeevi.
The director also shared his enthusiasm for Karna’s character, which he holds in high regard. Despite the progress made with “Kalki 2898 AD,” Ashwin noted that there is still much work to be done for the sequel.
