Social media has gone a long way to be an indicator of how a celebrity resonates with the millennial generation and Akkineni Nagarjuna, who turned 60 recently and never seems to be ageing, has mastered the medium reasonably well. The actor, who has made his presence felt across Facebook and Twitter, may not have been extremely vigorous with his social media activity but has responded to his fans well in the need of the hour. It doesn’t come as a surprise now that his Twitter handle has now breached the 6 million milestone.
It’s interesting to note that the actor follows only two people on social media – the PM Narendra Modi and innovator Elon Musk. His counterpart and star Chiranjeevi too entered social media recently and has been a cause of great cheer for his fans with his chirpy, spontaneous posts.
On the professional front, Nagarjuna is awaiting the release of Wild Dog next, being helmed by Oopiri writer Ahishor Solomon. The shoot of the film, to be held in Thailand earlier this year, was called off owing to the pandemic scare and from what we hear, the director isn’t keen on commencing the shoot anytime soon. Precautionary measures on sets in the time of the health crisis have become a dicey issue in the industry and the hearsay is that the makers, Matinee Entertainments, don’t want to take any immediate risk now. Dia Mirza and Saiyami Kher share screen space with Nagarjuna in Wild Dog. It has also been heard that Nagarjuna is in two minds about going ahead with Bangarraju, the sequel to Soggade Chinni Nayana.
