Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala exchanged rings on August 8 in an intimate ceremony attended by close family members. The engagement, confirmed by Naga Chaitanya’s father, veteran actor Nagarjuna, took place on a date chosen for its auspiciousness after consulting with astrologers.
Details about their wedding are still being kept secret, though there is speculation that the couple may choose a destination wedding. It is believed that the wedding could be held in Hyderabad, but the final plans are yet to be confirmed. An official announcement regarding the wedding is still awaited.
Following the engagement, Nagarjuna shared his thoughts on his son’s upcoming wedding. Speaking to Times Now, he expressed his joy in welcoming Sobhita into the family.
Nagarjuna also clarified that the wedding wouldn’t happen immediately. He explained that the engagement was organized quickly because of the auspiciousness of the date. Both Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita were certain about their commitment, leading their families to arrange the engagement without delay.
Nagarjuna shared that the engagement was done in a hurry because it was an auspicious day. Since Chay and Sobhita were sure about their decision, we decided to go ahead with it.
Interestingly, Nagarjuna revealed that he knew Sobhita even before his son did. He had noticed her talent six years ago in the film Goodachari and was impressed by her work. Over the years, they had several discussions on various topics, which gave him a deep respect for her knowledge and insights.
The engagement ceremony was a private affair, held in Hyderabad on August 8. Among the attendees were Naga Chaitanya’s brother Akhil Akkineni, his mother Lakshmi Daggubati, and his stepmother Amala, along with other close family members.
On the professional front, Naga Chaitanya is preparing for the release of his upcoming movie Thandel, which will feature actress Sai Pallavi in the lead role. While the release date hasn’t been officially announced, it is rumored that the film may be released around Christmas.
