In Tollywood, the trend of superstars taking ample time for project fruition is not uncommon. However, with the rise of pan-Indian culture, the expectations for quicker turnarounds between films have intensified. Allu Arjun, in particular, has faced criticism for the extended intervals between his projects.
The hiatus between “Ala Vaikunthapurramulo” and “Pushpa” was nearly two years, signaling a growing concern among fans. The gap further extends with the wait for “Pushpa 2,” as Bunny is set to take well over two and a half years for the second installment, potentially releasing on 15 August next year, barring any postponements.
The issue lies in Allu Arjun’s increasing tendency to invest more time in successive films, earning him the reputation of being the slowest among the current crop of Tollywood superstars. While he may argue that these big-ticket projects require extensive planning and execution, the prolonged wait tests the patience of his eager fan base, contrasting with Prabhas, who actively works on multiple projects simultaneously to ensure more frequent releases.
On the work front, Allu Arjun has films lined up with Trivikram Srinivas, Koratala Siva, Atlee Kumar and Nelson. He even has a film lined up with Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Animal fame. As of now, only Allu Arjun knows when he is gonna even begin these.
