Matka OTT: When and where to watch Varun Tej’s latest drama
Varun Tej’s latest crime drama Matka, a gangster period film, was released worldwide on November 14, 2024. This movie is set between the years 1958 and 1982, and follows the life of a gambler named Ratan Khetri. Varun Tej, who has been struggling with box office failures, took on the role of Matka Vasu, undergoing a significant transformation for the film’s retro theme.
Directed by Karuna Kumar, known for his debut with Palasa, Matka stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead and features an ensemble cast including Nora Fatehi, Saloni Aswani, P. Ravi Shankar, and Naveen Chandra. The film has received mixed to negative reviews from both critics and audiences.

The movie was reportedly produced on a budget of ₹50 crore by Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Talluri under the banners of Vyra Entertainment and SRT Entertainments. The music for the film was composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by Kishor Kumar and editing by Karthika Srinivas.
The digital streaming rights for Matka have been secured by Amazon Prime Video, and it is expected to stream on the platform after completing its theatrical run, likely within a month of release. More updates on the OTT release date are yet to come.
