Story:
The movie follows Babu Mohan (Sri Simha Koduri) and Yesu Dasu (Comedian Satya), two close friends working in the High Emergency (HE) team. They find themselves trapped in a serious situation involving a murder, which turns their lives upside down. The story is about their struggle to prove their innocence and clear themselves of suspicion.
Performances and Technical Aspects:
Sri Simha Koduri plays Babu Mohan, but it is Satya’s performance as Yesu Dasu that shines throughout the film. His quirky humor, over-the-top body language, and timing dominate every scene. Even though Simha gives a decent performance, Satya’s comic timing overshadows everyone. Faria Abdullah has a minor role that doesn’t add much to her career, while Sunil and Vennela Kishore’s characters feel underwhelming due to the way they were written.
On the technical front, Kaala Bhairava’s background score complements the film’s quirky tone, adding energy to the scenes. Suresh Sarangam’s cinematography captures refreshing visuals, and the production values from Mythri Movie Makers and Clap Entertainment ensure the film doesn’t look low-budget. However, the editing could have been tighter, especially in the second half, where certain scenes felt stretched and disrupted the flow.

Mathu Vadalara 2 begins with an exciting kidnapping scene that sets a quirky tone. The first half is well-paced, with a strong focus on Satya’s comedy. His one-liners land well, and the free-flowing writing keeps the audience engaged. The twist during the kidnapping adds intrigue and makes the first half entertaining.
However, the second half loses steam. The introduction of Vennela Kishore as a film star, followed by a lengthy subplot, feels disconnected and dilutes the film’s momentum. The climax, featuring actress Rohini, is predictable and fails to offer a satisfying resolution. Despite these shortcomings, Satya’s one-man show keeps the audience invested until the end.
Verdict:
Mathu Vadalara 2 is a decent follow-up to the first film, though it doesn’t quite match its predecessor. Satya’s performance is the highlight, and the first half offers plenty of laughs.
