Ritesh Rana, the director of the 2019 hit Mathu Vadalara, is back with its sequel, Mathu Vadalara 2. Released on September 13, 2024, the crime-comedy film has been met with positive reviews, creating excitement among movie enthusiasts. Despite minimal promotions, the movie has performed well at the box office, earning Rs 5.2 Crore worldwide on its opening day, thanks to word-of-mouth publicity.
In this sequel, the main characters, Babu (played by Sri Simha) and Yesu (played by Satya), who were previously delivery agents, are now members of a special team known as the ‘HE Team,’ led by Deepa (played by Rohini). Their bad luck continues as they find themselves facing new challenges, with the story filled with action and comedy, offering several surprises along the way.
The movie has continued its strong performance at the box office, with predictions for Day 6 indicating a steady run. As of Day 5, Mathu Vadalara 2 has earned over Rs 10.5 Crore worldwide, solidifying its success. The film’s entertaining plot and engaging performances are contributing factors to its growing popularity.
What’s interesting is that the digital streaming rights for Mathu Vadalara 2 have been acquired by Netflix India. While the movie is still performing well in theaters, its OTT release is expected in the second week of October 2024. An official announcement regarding the exact release date is anticipated soon.

Directed and written by Ritesh Rana, the film was produced by Chiranjeevi Pedamally and Hemalatha Pedamallu under the Clap Entertainment banner. Mythri Movie Makers also played a role in presenting the movie. Karthika Srinivas worked as the editor, while the music was composed by Kaala Bhairava.
