Tense atmosphere prevailed at Maruthi Rao’s funeral in Mirayalaguda, as the deceased daughter Amrutha couldn’t see the last rites owing to tense atmosphere. Amrutha was brought in police car to attend the funeral. The moment she got down from the vehicle, relative and supporters of Maruthi Rao chanted slogan ‘Amrutha Go Back’ blaming her for his death.
Meanwhile, Amrutha later told media, “I went there because he was still my father. I understand my mother’s pain in losing a husband. But I have a family here now. I will not leave them and go. The case is still going on and just like I am representing my husband, she may be representing hers. If she wishes to come and live with me, I am ready to welcome her.”
Meanwhile, Maruthi Rao brother Sravan who did the last rites blamed Amrutha for creating disturbance in family. He said, “The daughter had damaged everything and he may have killed himself due to that, but why should he regret anything? What wrong has he done?”

Pranay Perumalla death
Pranay, (24), was killed in Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district on September 14, 2018. The sensational murder brought to light about the effect inter-faith marriage could create. The main accused was Maruthi Rao, his brother Saravan among other assailants. Amrutha and Pranay were childhood friends, who got married at the Arya Samaj in 2018 against the wishes of her parents.
