Shruthi Haasan once was the most sought-after heroine. She had superstar status in Tamil and Telugu and acted opposite every big name in the industry. Her stock went further up with Gabbar Singh and the producers wanted to pay her any amount she wanted to make her work in their projects.

But, at the peak of her career, she began losing projects and took a deliberate sabbatical from films. To add to it, she went out of shape. Her last film Katamarayudu was a disaster and her looks were slammed even by her diehard fans. Since then, there were no offers from Tamil and Hindi. Recently she got an offer to act in Marathi film. Marathi industry’s range is very low and the remunerations too are considerably low.
But, Shruthi wanted the remuneration she was getting earlier. The Marathi film producer found he cannot afford that amount. Film’s director Mahesh Manjrekar who chose Shruthi for the film too was shocked. In fact, Shruthi quoted a figure that is much lower than her normal Telugu rates. But, even that amount was too big for the Marathi industry. Last heard, Shruthi is out of the project now and the unit is looking for some other heroine.
