Manjummel Boys, a Malayalam survival thriller, made its theatrical debut on February 22, 2024. The film captured the audience’s attention and broke records within a day of its release. The movie draws inspiration from real-life events of 2006 and follows a group of friends embarking on a vacation to Kodaikanal, where they venture into the restricted part of Guna caves.
While fans eagerly awaited its release on the OTT platform, there has been a delay in its premiere, originally scheduled for April 5, with no official communication from Disney Plus Hotstar regarding the delay.
However, according to the latest buzz, the film will debut on Disney Plus Hotstar on May 3, 2024, in all major Indian languages, including Telugu. An official statement from the makers is awaited.
Despite the delay, the movie continues to amass success at the box office, grossing Rs 89.15 crore domestically and Rs 130 crore globally from February 22 to March 11. By March 21, it surpassed Rs 200 crore in global earnings, making history as the first Malayalam film to achieve this milestone and ranking as the third highest-grossing Indian movie of 2024.
Directed by Chidambaram S Poduval, the film is produced by Babu Shahir, Soubin Shahir, and Shawn Antony under the Parava Films banner.
