Manjummel Boys actor arrested for drunk driving and speeding
Malayalam actor Ganapathi, famous for his roles in movies like Manjummel Boys was apprehended by the police for drunk driving and overspeeding on Saturday night. According to a report by Kerala Kaumudi, the incident occurred while he was traveling from Angamaly to Kalamassery.
Authorities reported that Ganapathi ignored multiple warnings to stop at checkpoints in Athani and Aluva. He was eventually halted in Kalamassery, where a breathalyzer test confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol. Police noted that he was changing lanes dangerously and driving at high speed. A case was filed against him for violating traffic laws, but he was later released on bail.

Ganapathi began his acting journey as a child artist and gained recognition for his role in Vinodayathra, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. He also acted in notable films such as Pranchiyettan & The Saint and Chithrashalabhangalude Veedu. Over the years, he expanded his portfolio with movies in Hindi and Malayalam, including The Waiting Room and Mr. & Ms. Rowdy.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ganapathi explored filmmaking by directing the short film Onnu Chirikoo and acting in the Malayalam web series Instagraamam. He also co-wrote and acted in Jan.E.Man directed by his brother Chidambaram. His recent film Manjummel Boys became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of 2024.
