Telugu Cinema, in fact, South Indian Cinema, saw an iconic moment in the film, Okkadu, 16 years ago, when a Kabaddi player decided to help a girl who was being forcefully kidnapped and married by a factionist, fascist Obul Reddy.
At Kurnool Kondareddy Buruju centre, Kabaddi player hits Obul Reddy and runs away with the girl. Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj made this moment iconic and in Tamil, Vijay and Prakash Raj re-enacted with Madurai backdrop in the remake, Ghilli.
Mahesh gets nostalgic at Sarileru Neekevvaru sets
As social media suddenly started comparing both and criticising the other version, Mahesh is back at Kondareddy Buruju centre, this time a set for his next film, Sarileru Neekevvaru in the direction of Anil Ravipudi. The picture was shared by the producer of the film Anil Sunkara, with a nostalgic tweet memory and shoot update on Twitter: “16 years ago, this location became iconic on the silver screen. This time we aim to make it bigger. Our production designer A.S prakash garu recreated the location spectacularly. The man who brought Kurnool Kondareddy Buruzu to Ramoji FilmCity. Revealing this on this auspicious day”
