Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi 50-day event celebrations were supposed to be held on June 28 at Shilpakala Vedhika. However due to the sudden demise and as a mark of respect for the senior actor Vijay Nirmala, the 50-days Maharshi event has got cancelled.
The veteran actress breathed her last in the wee hours of June 27. The entire Ghattameeni family is in grief and Tollywood celebrities from Jr NTR to Samantha to Rana Daggubati have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Vijaya Nirmala’s son actor Naresh tweeted, “I regret to inform you that my Mother senior Artiste, prominent Producer & Director, Dr. G Vijayanirmala Garu passed away during early hours today, that is, 27.6.2019, at Continental Hospitals, Hyderabad, due to sickness. Her body will be kept at our residence ( Nanakramguda) today from 11am. Her final rites will be held tomorrow, that is, 28.6.2019. Further information will be updated.”
