Maha Samudram has released today as Dussehra special. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.
Plot
Vijay and Arjun played by Siddharth and Sharwa are two friends who depart in life due to a girl called Maha(Aditi Rao). But when Maha who is lover of Vijay gets nearer to Arjun, Vijay gets upset and decides to take his revenge on Arjun. What happens next is the basic story.
Performances
Siddharth is a revelation in this film and it was so good to him on screen after a long time and he impresses. Aditi Rao is a weak link of the film and she has nothing to do but to look dull and cry in the film. Sharwa is good but he is doing the same roles time and again and needs to sign good films.
But the star is Rao Ramesh who has done a very neat job innhis role. He is the sole actor who brings depth to the film with his act. For a change, Anu Emanuel looks good and also acts well in the film.
Analysis
Maha Samudram is about a few key characters and deals with friendship between two individuals. This aspect is not handled properly in the film. The drama is the weakest link and one keeps on waiting to see when the proper confrontation scenes will come.
Every character has a start but thier ending is so bad and lacks any clarity. The camera guys have a good job and the same is with Chaitan Bhardwaj and his music.
The first half of the film is only used to establish characters and the needed drama in second half is pale. Jagapathi Babu and his role looks silly.
Finally, the makers told the film has a great love story but that is not the case at all as the film fails to impress and ends a lethargic watch this Dussehra season.
Bottom Line- All Hype No Substance
