Leaving a lucrative career as a doctor, Dr. Kamakshi Bhaskarla decided to walk against the bright lights of showbiz. Having won the crown of Miss India Telangana 2018, she made her presence felt with Virupaksha, the web series Shaitan, Maa Oori Polimera 2021. Ahead of her film’s release Maa Oori Polimera 2 on November 3, she interacted with media persons.
The name Kamakshi may ring the bell with films like ‘Virupaksha’, ‘Shaitan’, ‘Maa Oori Polimera 1 and 2’ in recent months, her journey into the entertainment industry started in 2018 when she won the Miss India Telangana title. “Leaving aside my medical profession in Apollo, I knocked at the doors of production houses for film offers. Thanks to films like Virupaksha and Shaitaan, now audiences are recognizing my work. I have done three web series on Aha so far. I didn’t want to become an actor or a director initially. I like science and arts though. I am a trained classical dancer. I have done a few theatre arts and stage shows. Then I felt like I should get into the mainstream cinema since I was confident I could play characters with much ease. I love writing as well. Noted Telugu author Chalam’s influence is on me. I became a part of the direction department too because of my interest in other crafts,” she adds.
Starring actor Satyam Rajesh and Dr. Kamakshi Bhaskar as the lead pair, Maa Oori Polimera 2 features Getup Srinu, Rakendu Mouli, Baladitya, Sahithi Dasari, Ravi Varma, Movie Srinu and Akshatha Srinivas among others in the key roles. Dr. Anil Viswanath has directed the film while Gauri Krishna bankrolled the project and Gauru Ganababu is presenting it. The film is a sequel to Maa Oori Polimera.
The female lead asks audiences to watch ‘Ma Uri Polimera’ part 1 to have a basic idea of the story. “Some people have doubts regarding the film whether it is a sequel or not. You may think the film would be like ‘F2’ and ‘F3’. No, the part 2 starts from where part 1 ends,” she says. Kamakshi is doing webseries ‘Mansion House Mallesh’ and ‘Dhoota’ for Aha.
