Following the response to part 1 ‘Maa Oori Polimera’, director Dr. Anil Vishwanath is coming before Telugu audiences on November 3 with the sequel ‘Maa Oori Polimera 2’.
Starring actor Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Baladitya and Rakendu Mouli in lead roles, the film is produced by Gowri Kriesna under the banner Shree Krishna Creations. The film is being released worldwide by leading distributor Vamsi Nandipati. Ahead of the film’s release, the director interacted with web/print journalists on Monday. He says the story offers an intriguing tale of suspense and thrilling experience to audiences on the big screen.
Usually, sequels are made only for big films. But why did you choose to make a sequel to a small film like Maa Oori Polimera?
“In the beginning itself, we started writing the story keeping two parts in mind. Because of the intensity and seriousness of the subject black magic, we thought it should have a Part 2. It begins where Part 1 ended. It is a perfect sequel I can say. If you look at the promotional pictures, it may be appealing that it has a connection with the film Karthikeya 2. But our film has nothing to do with ‘Karthikeya 2’ except for the common point of the temple,” he says.
There are some unexpected twists in the first part. What Part 2 has to offer?
“Those who watched the first part, they enjoyed the twists in it. Eventually, the expectations on part 2 have increased. That’s why I made the screenplay tight. There are eight twists in this film. If you compare it to Part 1, you would feel ten times the thrill. Flag scenes are shocking. I announced that Maa Oori Polimera 3 will also be made in the future. The story is ready,” he added.
