Just as love happens in life when you least expect it, so does Pakodi. What is Pakodi? A vulnerable man and a seriously independent woman seeing each other for a decade go through complications and confusions. The film addresses all this and much more says Jayanth Gali about Love Life and Pakodi. He elaborates, “The pace at which the world is changing in how the youth perceive relationships. By the time they understand something, it has already evolved into something. If a boy and a girl are in a relationship and by the time they take another step, there comes many a change that is radical. They fall into a confusion and don’t know where to place it and how to handle it. Love and life is integral part but Pakodi here is a metaphor that you want to avoid in life. To be clear, sometimes when you don’t want to be in a situation, life pushes you into the same place. That is a Pakodi situation.”
This is Jayanth’s first film ever, he was in IT and he quit his job to get into films. He had no great contacts in the film industry, except for some friends but what is more important is that he had the grit and persistence to achieve his dream of writing and directing a project. How did he come up with this story idea? Jayanth Gali has many youngsters as friends and he empathises with their thoughts. He also thinks and has observed that boys are more vulnerable and wanted to project that in his film. He says, “People brought up in fear are not able to come out and heavy complexes. I took the crux of the characters. Well behaved women rarely make history is one statement in the poster on the girl’s side reflecting her opinion and the other statement on the wall towards the guy that speaks of exasperation, “ I don’t want to be a genius, I have enough problems trying to be a man!” More about the cast soon.
