Kalki 2898AD: Here’s the actor who played lord Krishna in Prabhas starter

The concept of Kalki 2898 AD, set in the year 2898 AD, is an intriguing blend of futuristic elements with the epic Mahabharata. This imaginative narrative has been crafted by the young filmmaker Nag Ashwin. The visuals of the film are groundbreaking for Indian cinema, setting new standards in terms of cinematography and special effects. The movie features numerous noteworthy cameos, including Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, and Dulquer Salmaan—however, the one character whose actor was not revealed until the film’s release is Lord Krishna.

Before the release, much speculation existed about who would portray Lord Krishna. Rumors even suggested that Sr NTR would be digitally recreated for the role. The truth, however, is that Tamil actor Krishna Kumar, also known as KK, played the part. Although the film does not show his face, KK’s performance as Lord Krishna is significant and impactful.

Krishna Kumar is a theatre actor and trainer, known for his work with various actors in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam cinema. He also appeared in the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru as Captain Che. On Instagram, KK expressed his joy: “An absolute honor to be able to open an epic film, playing such a special character. Grateful.”

The film is set in the dystopian city of Kashi and follows Bhairava (played by Prabhas), a bounty hunter aiming to reach the Complex ruled by the Supreme Yaskin. The plot thickens with the introduction of Ashwattama, who is on a quest to find SUM 80 and her child. Bhairava’s mission to capture SUM 80 brings him face-to-face with Ashwattama and other formidable adversaries.

Kalki 2898 AD is a mythological sci-fi film featuring a stellar cast. Prabhas stars as Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwattama, Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, and Deepika Padukone as SUM-80. Other notable actors include Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, Shobana, Harshith Malgireddy, Rajendra Prasad, and Keerthy Suresh (voice-over).
