Looop Lapeta Review

Taapsee’s new film, Looop Lapeta is now streaming on Netflix. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Savi(Taapsee) and Satya(Tahir Raj Bhasin) are a couple who live on the edge. One fine day, Satya loses a parcel given to him by his boss which is worth 50 lakhs. This upsets his life and gets only 80 minutes to get it back. He reveals this to his girlfriend Satya who takes things in his hand and sets things right. How she does it is the story.

Performances

Taapsee and Tahir Raj look lost in the plot and overact to no extent. Taapsee is so unkempt that you feel suffocated seeing her on-screen. There is no need for the makers to showcase the lead pair on such a dirty note. The other supporting cast is also forced to ham like never before by the director and this spoils the fun.

Analysis

The film is the remake of the German thriller Run Lola Run but it is an insult to it. There is a time loop concept that is so bloody confusing. There is not much that happens apart from the director’s camera angles and creativity that is showcased through the visuals.

The film is a thriller but it is dragged for no reason. There is nothing to even write about in the first half as the time loop concept is so boring and overdone after a point. There are so many repeated scenes that will bore you and make to stop watching the film.

Taapsee is known to make some good choices. But even her acting can not save this dumb film which is high on technical aspects and nothing else.

Bottom Line – Suffocating and time waste
