Legendary Carnatic Musician Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna has passed away this afternoon at his residence in Chennai. Aged 86, Bala Murali Krishna is the recipient of Padma Vibhushan, second highest civilian award in India. He was born is Shankaraguptam village located in West Godavari district. His father is also a well-known musician and he was sent to musical classes under Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Panthulu at the young age itself.
Bala Murali Krishna had given his first stage performance at the age of six and till now he performed in over 25,000 concerts. He composed over 400 compositions in various languages like Telugu, Tamil, Sanskrit and Kannada. He also acted in many films. Many celebrities have paid condolences to this legendary singer and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
