Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest venture, Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, has been the talk of the town lately. The film, a sports action drama set amidst communal riots, hit the theaters with much anticipation. However, despite high expectations, Lal Salaam failed to make a mark at the box office, falling short of achieving respectable numbers.

Initially rumored to premiere on Netflix on March 8, then rescheduled to March 21, and later March 29, the OTT release of Lal Salaam has been a subject of uncertainty. Featuring a talented cast including Vishnu Vishal as Thirunavukarasu “Thiru” and Vikranth, Lal Salaam also boasts cameo appearances by Rajinikanth himself, playing the role of Moideen Bhai in an extended capacity, alongside Nirosha as Moideen’s wife, and Jeevitha Rajashekar as Moideen’s sister. Notably, the film marks A. R. Rahman’s debut collaboration with Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Vishnu Vishal, and Vikranth, with his captivating music and background score enhancing the narrative. The visual aesthetics are brought to life by Vishnu Rangasamy’s cinematography, complemented by B. Pravin Baaskar’s adept editing skills.
