Both Telugu states recently found themselves engulfed in intense political fervor, overshadowing the usual buzz around movie releases. Amidst this, the latest movie from actor Satyadev, titled Krishnamma, faced a disaster reception upon its theatrical release on May 10th.
The political climate diverted public attention, resulting in a lack of audience turnout. However, within a mere seven days, the film made a swift transition to the digital realm, landing on the popular OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
Despite its lukewarm reception in cinemas, Krishnamma managed to garner moderate reviews, characterized as a conventional revenge saga. The decision to swiftly stream it on Amazon Prime Video hints at a strategic move by the OTT platform to capitalize on its availability amidst the ongoing political distractions. There’s hope that the film might find a more appreciative audience in the digital space, considering its limited theatrical exposure.
Notably, Krishnamma stands out as one of the few Telugu films to make the transition to OTT platforms in such a brief timeframe. The movie features a talented ensemble cast including Laxman Meesala, Krishna, Archana, Raghu Kunche, and Nandagopal, with music composed by Kaala Bhairava. Directed by V.V. Gopalakrishna, “Krishnamma” is presented by acclaimed director Koratala Siva and produced by Krishna Kommalapati under the banner of Arunachala Creations.
