Despite positive reviews, NTR Kathanayakudu is a commercial disaster.The theatrical rights were sold for Rs 70 crore, but the film may not even recover Rs 20 crore in full run. The Kathanayakudu team is both shocked and dismayed at this outcome. The buzz in Film Nagar is that this could affect the Part 2 of the biopic. Only a part of the shooting remains pending for Part 2 and the film is to release on Feb 2. But, both Krish and Balayya Babu are very disappointed with the result of Part 1. Now, they are busy remodelling the film.
But, the worst part of NTR’s life – including Lakshmi Parvathi episode and Chandrababu’s back-stabbing – will have t be shown in Part 2. Sugar-coating these incidents is not easy. Meanwhile, RGV is coming up with his own version and this is a major cause for tension. Also, Nadendla Bhaskara Rao’s social media interviews too are causing concern for the team. How Mahanayakudu will shape up and will the audience like it is the biggest question now.
