Excerpt: Kollywood music director Imman has firmly declared that he will not do a Sivakarthikeyan film, citing a profound feeling of betrayal. In a recent interview, Imman revealed that their communication has ceased, and he attributed this breakdown to personal issues.
Kollywood music director Imman has expressed that he will never collaborate with Sivakarthikeyan due to a sense of betrayal. In a recent interview, Imman revealed that they are no longer on speaking terms and cited personal reasons for this decision. He said, “Working with him in this lifetime is difficult due to a significant breach of trust. Perhaps, in a different lifetime, if he were an actor and I a music director, we could work together.”
When asked for more details, Imman explained, “This is how some people betray others. I was unaware of it at first, but later I discovered what he had done. By the time I realized what had happened, it was too late. That’s why I won’t collaborate with him in the future. I did speak to him about it from my side, but I can’t share what he said. If I’m choosing to stay silent and keep some things hidden, it’s solely to protect my children. I’m not concerned about what society may think of me. I know who I am, and my faith is strong. I stay true to myself, my faith, my community, and my family. That’s my primary focus. I can’t control things beyond that. Sometimes, events occur by chance, and we can’t always understand why they happen.”
Imman clarified, “I want to make it clear that I’m not blaming Sivakarthikeyan as the sole person responsible for what happened to me. He played a significant role, given the considerable time I spent with him and his family. It was hard to believe that this came from him, even though he wasn’t the only cause of my pain and sorrow.”
Imman went on to mention that he frequently received inquiries about a potential collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan. He expressed, “I need to make a decision, and moving forward, it’s not possible. Forgiveness is a part of being human, as we all have our imperfections. We can forgive, but there are certain things we can’t forget. In the realm of creativity, it would be challenging for me to forget everything and work with him. Doing so would compromise my integrity as an artist. I’m not driven by money; I cannot betray my music. To stay true to my art, I must be completely authentic. It’s just impossible to forget and create for him.”
Imman and Sivakarthikeyan had collaborated on five films, including ‘Manam Kothi Paravai,’ ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam,’ ‘Rajinimurugan,’ ‘Seemaraja,’ and ‘Namma Veetu Pillai.’
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan began his journey in the entertainment world as a stand-up comedian. Over time, he transitioned into television, where he took on the role of hosting reality shows. His talent and charisma eventually paved the way for him to enter the world of cinema. Today, he stands as one of the prominent and leading heroes in the Tamil film industry.
