1. Kill on Disney+ Hotstar (September 6)
One of the most awaited releases is Kill, featuring Lakshya Lalwani in his Bollywood debut. This film, which turned out to be one of the unexpected hits of 2024, brings a mix of action and drama. The story revolves around Amrit Rathod, an NSG Commando who undertakes a risky mission to rescue his girlfriend, Tulika, who is forcefully engaged to someone else. Following her tragic death in a bandit attack, Amrit embarks on a relentless quest for revenge. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the movie also stars Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala, Abhishek Chauhan, and Ashish Vidyarthi. Kill grossed a respectable ₹47 crore during its theatrical run and is set to make its OTT debut on Disney+ Hotstar on September 6.
2. Call Me Bae on Amazon Prime Video (September 6)
Ananya Pandey returns to the OTT space with Call Me Bae, a comedy-drama directed by Colin DCunha. The series follows the life of Bella Chowdhury, also known as Bae, who must navigate life with her wit and charm after being disowned by her billionaire family. The show promises humor and drama in equal measure, with a cast that includes Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, and Varun Sood. Call Me Bae will be available on Amazon Prime Video from September 6.
3. Tanaav 2 on Sony LIV (September 6)
Tanaav returns for a second season, continuing the intense narrative of Kabir Farooqui, played by Manav Vij. This season introduces a new antagonist, Al-Damishq, a young man driven by vengeance, who poses a significant threat in Kashmir. The show, an official adaptation of the Israeli series Fauda, is a compelling mix of heroism, betrayal, and revenge, with a stellar cast including Gaurav Arora, Arbaaz Khan, and Rajat Kapoor. Based on the book by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins, Freedom At Midnight is a historical series that delves into the events leading up to India’s independence. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the series explores the pivotal roles of leaders like Nehru, Gandhi, Patel, and Jinnah, and the complex relationships that shaped India’s destiny.
