Kerala court grants bail to Actor Bala, restricts comments on ex-wife and daughter
Actor Bala was arrested on charges of harassment and defamation following a complaint by his ex-wife, Amritha Suresh. On October 14, 2024, the Kadavanthra Police apprehended him at his residence. The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate court later granted him conditional bail, with the stipulation that he refrain from making any remarks about Amritha or their daughter on social media.
Amritha filed the complaint accusing Bala of defaming her and their daughter online. She further alleged that he stalked and harassed them after their divorce. These actions reportedly created distress for their daughter, Avantika. Amritha expressed that Bala’s continuous threats and harassment made their lives difficult, even making it hard for their daughter to attend school. She revealed that despite hoping for peace after the divorce, Bala’s behavior continued to impact their lives.
After his arrest, Amritha shared her painful experience, stating that she had suffered severe physical and mental abuse during their marriage. She mentioned that she had to leave Bala to protect their daughter from the toxic environment at home. Even after their separation, Bala allegedly continued to trouble them.
The court ordered Bala to be available for further questioning as needed and prohibited him from speaking about his ex-wife and daughter publicly. Amritha also addressed rumors regarding financial disputes, clarifying that their divorce settlement was modest and denying any claims of embezzling money from Bala.
