Keeda Cola Review : A Passable Blend of Comedy and Crime

Keeda Cola Review

Story:

In Keeda Cola, Vaasthu (Chaitanya Rao), who suffers from Tourette syndrome, finds himself in a legal battle after damaging a patient simulator. His encounter with a soft drink containing a cockroach leads to a case in the consumer forum, guided by his lawyer friend Lancham (Rag Mayur). Their paths cross with Jeevan (Jeevan Kumar), a wannabe Corporator, setting the stage for a unique blend of crime and comedy.

Performances and Technical Aspects:

Tharun Bhascker shines not only as a director but also as an actor, demonstrating his versatility. Jeevan Kumar delivers a noteworthy performance, while Brahmanandam, despite a full-length role, remains largely passive. The rest of the cast, including Vishnu Oi, Chaitanya Rao, and Rag Mayur, perform adequately. The film benefits from a crisp narrative, impressive cinematography, and background music. However, the storyline lacks depth and a strong central point.

Analysis:

Keeda Cola shares Tharun Bhascker’s trademark situational humor, with the second half offering engaging moments and a thrilling finale. The first half focuses on character and plot development, with intermittent humor. However, the film’s primary shortcoming lies in its thin plot, which doesn’t live up to the expectations of a director known for solid content.

The first half, dedicated to character introductions, falls short of excitement, with a few jokes missing the mark and occasional pacing issues. Brahmanandam’s limited screen time may disappoint fans of the legendary comedian.

In summary, Keeda Cola is a watchable crime comedy-drama with an engaging second half and moments of humor. While the technical aspects and performances are commendable, the film lacks a strong storyline and could have benefited from a more robust first half. Nevertheless, it offers a few crazy moments and situational humor in the latter part, making it a passable choice for a weekend viewing.
