The liquor shops in Telangana government will be re-opened from today (May 6) with a price hike of 16 percent. The shops will be opened in all the zones from 10 am and shut by 6 pm, except for the Containment areas.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made the aforementioned things during the media conference on late night on Tuesday. He also said that any outlet found flouting social distancing norms will be shut immediately.
“We are taking the decision as neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh have opened liquor stores,” KCR said. The liquor prices of imported were hiked by 16%, while country-made liquor rates have been hiked by 11%.
KCR on lockdown till May 29
Speaking about extending the state-wide lockdown till May 29, KCR said, “We cannot compromise in Hyderabad and take any risks. 66% of all cases are from the limits of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) only. People here should cooperate with us. There is a chance for community spread. We are worried,”
