Kavya Thapar’s glamour not helping to revive her career
In Indian cinema, a heroine’s career often has a shorter span compared to heroes. Successful heroines can manage to do numerous films within a decade, but those who fail to make an impact are quickly forgotten. A shift is seen now, with the rise of new-generation actresses like Rashmika Mandanna, Sreeleela, and Mrunal Thakur, taking the spotlight.
Kavya Thapar, an actress who started with Ek Mini Katha, has been in several films recently. However, despite appearing in back-to-back movies this year, she has not seen much success. She acted in prominent roles, including the lead in Raviteja’s Eagle, but the movie did not perform well at the box office. Her glamorous role in Ooru Peru Bhairavakona also failed to attract audiences, adding to her streak of flops.

In Puri Jagannath’s Double Ismart, Kavya grabbed attention for her glamorous appearance, particularly among younger audiences. Unfortunately, despite her growing fan base, the movie did not provide her the breakthrough she needed. Her latest film, Viswam, featured her in another glamorous role, but it also did not succeed.
Kavya Thapar’s repeated appearances in glamorous roles have gained her recognition for her looks, but the lack of successful films is affecting her career. While it’s unfair to entirely blame her for the movies’ failures, the continuous flops are casting a shadow on her filmography. Is this streak of failures due to hard luck, or is it because of poor role choices? Only time will tell if she can break this cycle.
