In Mare of Easttown, Kate Winslet plays a detective investigating a murder in a small town near Philadelphia. She is also a grandmother in the HBO Max series. In a recent interview, she revealed that a sex scene showed “bulgy bit of belly”, which the director offered to remove. But her response to it was, “Don’t you dare.”
Kate also said that she sent back the poster of the crime drama twice as she felt it had been altered too much. The Oscar-winning actress told the New York Times, “I’m like ‘Guys, I know how many lines I have by the side of my eye, please put them all back.’ I said to my husband, ‘Am I OK with that? Is it all right that I’m playing a middle-aged woman who is a grandmother who does really make a habit of having one-night stands?’ He’s like ‘Kate, it’s great.’” Mare of Easttown has been praised by critics and viewers. It is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar Premium in India.
