The Telugu films have become a hub for Bollywood filmmaker for great stories. After the hit Arjun Reddy, the next Telugu film on the remake is Dear Comrade. According to reports, Karan has splurged Rs 6 crores for the Dear Comrade Hindi remake rights.
But here comes the surprising news. Not just Karan Johar, but Bollywood biggie producers Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani and Sajid Nadiadwala – Vijay Galani wanted to buy the rights of Dear Comrade. But KJo went ahead and bagged it before missing it. Karan Johar had tweeted, “Stunning and powerful love story! With top-notch performances and exceptional music… Announcing that @DharmaMovies to remake this beautiful film.”
Talking about film’s trade talk, Sreedhar Pillai had said, “The film opened well at the box-office, but hasn’t lived up to the expectations.” On the other side, a source close to Dharma Productions said, “Dear Comrade has fared as per the estimation of Karan’s company. They will surely be making the Hindi adaptation as planned.”
