Kanguva’s advance sales disappoint ahead of release
Kanguva, Suriya’s upcoming period action film, is generating excitement ahead of its worldwide release on November 14. The movie, directed by Siruthai Siva, tells the story of a warrior from 1678 who died due to a mysterious disease, with a modern-day girl researching the same illness. Suriya plays five different roles, adding to the film’s intrigue.
However, despite the high expectations, the film’s advance bookings have been lackluster. The Tamil 2D version has sold only 2,977 tickets, grossing Rs 653,970, while the Tamil 3D version has performed slightly better with Rs 982,869 from 4,740 tickets. In contrast, the Hindi and Telugu versions have seen minimal sales so far. The total advance collection for the film across all versions stands at approximately Rs 31.6 lakh from over 18,000 tickets sold.

The movie is set to release in multiple formats, including 2D, 3D, and IMAX, offering a variety of viewing options for audiences. Alongside Suriya, the film features Bollywood actors like Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in important roles. The movie’s music, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, adds to its excitement.
Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the Studio Green and UV Creations banners, Kanguva aims to deliver an action-packed cinematic experience. Despite the slow start with bookings, fans are still eager to see the film’s grand release.
