Kanguva OTT: Where to watch Suriya’s film post-theatrical run
Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani’s much-awaited film Kanguva released in theaters on November 14, 2024. Directed by Siva, the epic fantasy action film has already garnered positive reviews from fans. With its successful theatrical release, many are eager to know when and where the movie will be available on OTT platforms.
Kanguva will be available on Amazon Prime Video after completing its theatrical run. The OTT platform had announced in March 2024 that it had secured the streaming rights for the movie. However, a specific release date for its digital debut hasn’t been confirmed yet.

According to M9 News, the film will remain in theaters for at least eight weeks before it makes its way to OTT. This extended run is longer than most major Tamil films. National multiplexes like INOX and PVR have also planned to screen the Hindi-dubbed version for a longer period, ensuring the movie stays in cinemas for more time.
Reports also reveal that the OTT rights for Kanguva were sold to Amazon Prime for a record-breaking Rs. 100 crore, highlighting the film’s high anticipation and commercial potential.
Kanguva marks Suriya’s first collaboration with director Siruthai Siva. It is considered a major breakthrough for Suriya on a pan-India level, with high expectations. In the movie, Suriya plays two distinct characters, Kanguva and Francis, each with different looks and personalities. His physical transformation for these roles has impressed fans, as seen in the film’s posters and trailers.
The plot of Kanguva revolves around a tribal hero who lived centuries ago, fighting for the rights of his people. The story also explores a connection between this ancient warrior and a modern-day shadow cop, both played by Suriya.
