There is a buzz that Raghava Lawrence is planning to continue with the fifth installment of the Kanchana series. The new film will not only feature Lawrence in the lead role but also see him directing again.

Lawrence, who started his career as a choreographer, launched the film series with Muni in 2007. This movie, which he directed, tells the story of a young man named Ganesh who is afraid of ghosts. His life changes dramatically when a vengeful spirit possesses him to seek revenge on those who wronged it.
Muni was a big hit, leading to the creation of a popular horror-comedy franchise in Tamil cinema. By 2019, the series had four films, with the latest being Muni 4: Kanchana 3. Each film follows a similar storyline, mixing horror and comedy.
