Kalki 2898 AD box office collections day 2: Kalki 2898 AD has made a stunning debut at the box office becoming the year’s biggest opener and breaking several records with its multi-language release. According to box-office reports, the film earned a substantial Rs 95 crore nett in India on its first day. Worldwide, Vyjayanthi Movies reported an impressive total of Rs 191.5 crore on the opening day. The film was released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam, with the Telugu version leading the pack with a collection of Rs 64.5 crore nett. The Hindi version followed with Rs 24 crore while the Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions brought in Rs 4 crore, Rs 2.2 crore and Rs 30 lakh respectively. The Telugu release notably achieved an impressive 85.15% occupancy.
Looking deeper into the global collections, Kalki 2898 AD amassed over Rs 191 crore on its first day. It is projected that the film will add another Rs 90 crore on the second day, pushing its total to between Rs 280 to 300 crore within just two days. If this trend continues, trade sources predict the film could join the prestigious 1000 crore club within its first week.
When compared to previous blockbusters, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed last year’s top opener Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan, which earned Rs 75 crore on its first day. Jawan eventually collected Rs 640.25 crore nett in India and Rs 1,160 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk. Kalki 2898 AD now holds the position of the third-highest opener in Indian cinema history, overtaking Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 which earned Rs 159 crore on its opening day.
