Kalki 2898 AD box office collection first weekend:
“Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, has made a powerful start at the Indian box office since its release on June 28. The sci-fi epic collected an estimated Rs 220 crore nett in its first three days, proving its dominance. Reports from trade tracker Sacnilk suggest this momentum continued into the fourth day, Sunday, with an additional Rs 67.19 crore nett across all languages. This puts the film on track to exceed the Rs 300 crore mark in India by the end of its opening weekend.
The Telugu version of “Kalki 2898 AD” saw a strong 76.77% occupancy rate on Sunday, while the Hindi version had a 54.12% occupancy rate. Even the Kannada dubbed version drew a 37.63% occupancy rate for morning shows. Sacnilk reports a phenomenal opening day collection of Rs 95.3 crore nett across all languages. Though collections dipped to Rs 57.6 crore nett on Friday, they surged again on Saturday to Rs 67 crore nett.
Internationally, the film is also performing impressively, earning over Rs 415 crore in just three days. By the end of the weekend, this number is expected to surpass Rs 500 crore. In North America, “Kalki 2898 AD” has made $9.1 million, positioning it among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in the US and Canada. However, it faces competition from Hollywood releases like “A Quiet Place: One Day” and “Inside Out 2,” the latter projected to cross the $1 billion mark this week.
Despite this competition, “Kalki 2898 AD” is on track for record-breaking numbers. Upcoming holidays in the US and Canada could further enhance its success.
The film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, with Kamal Haasan playing a pivotal part. Other notable cast members include Disha Patani, Pasupathy, Shobana, and Anna Ben. The project also features cameos by SS Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.
