Kajal Aggarwal once quit her IIM dreams and is soon to be seen in Indian 3
Kajal Aggarwal, a leading actress in Indian cinema is set to appear in the upcoming film Indian 3. Known for her impressive career and being the first actress to get a wax figure in Madame Tussauds Singapore Kajal is also among the highest-paid actresses in the industry. However, before achieving fame, she had dreams of attending the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) but gave them up to follow her passion for acting.
Kajal’s film journey began with a minor role in the Bollywood movie Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi, and Aishwarya Rai. She then moved to Telugu cinema debuting as a lead in Lakshmi Kalyanam alongside Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. Despite the film’s moderate success, it did not significantly boost her career.
Her roles in films like Chandamama, Pazhani, and Aatadista helped her gain recognition but it was the 2009 blockbuster Magadheera directed by SS Rajamouli that made her a household name. Starring opposite Ram Charan, the film’s success opened doors for her in the industry.

Kajal continued to star in popular movies such as Darling, Naan Mahaan Alla, and the Bollywood hit Singham with Ajay Devgn. By 2012 she was a prominent figure in Indian cinema, featuring in successful films like Businessman with Mahesh Babu, Thuppakki with Thalapathy Vijay, Naayak, and Special 26 with Akshay Kumar.
Although she faced setbacks with films like Paayum Puli and Brahmotsavam, Kajal’s career remained resilient. Her role in Khaidi No. 150 with Chiranjeevi reaffirmed her star status. She also delivered notable performances in Vivegam, Mersal, and Nene Raju Nene Mantri.
Born on June 19, 1985, in Mumbai Kajal hails from a Punjabi family originally from Amritsar. She graduated in mass media with a specialization in marketing and advertising. Initially aspiring to pursue an MBA, she later decided to focus on acting. Kajal married entrepreneur Gautam Kitchlu in 2020, and they have a son named Neil.
